Safety Week 2026
Physics Safety Week took place Monday, February 2, through Friday, February 6, 2026.
Physics Safety Week took place during the week of February 2nd, 2026, with a focus on the theme of Ergonomics. LBNL ergonomics subject matter experts provided ergonomics evaluations across various office suites and labs. Over 40 individuals benefited and work more comfortably as a result.
The week was an opportunity to focus on workplace clean up and catching up on Work Planning and Control (WPC) required training.
The Physics Safety Committed conducted walkthroughs of the labs at the end of the week and awards were given for the Most Ergonomics Proactive group, Cleanest and Most Organized Lab Space and the Group with Best WPC Compliance.
Overall it was a great success!
The kick off meeting for Safety Week will take place Monday, February 2, 2026, 10:00-10:30 am, in the Bldg. 50 Auditorium. The theme for this year’s Safety Week is Ergonomics.
After the kick off presentation by Nathalie Palanque Delabrouille, Physics Division Director, Jonathan Cabrera, LBNL Ergonomics Subject Matter Expert (SME), will present Ergonomics: One Small Change
Safety week is a great opportunity to catch up on all Work Planning and Control (WPC) required training, focus on workplace cleanups, chemical inventory and reconciliation, and updating door placards.
Office Walkthroughs will focus on ergonomics and will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 3rd and 4th from 1-4pm. Please review the schedule and be in your office during that time.
Lab Walkthroughs by Physics Division Leadership, LBNL Ergonomics SME and Safety Committee members will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Cleanest and Most Organized Lab Space, Group with Best WPC Compliance and Ergonomic Specific Awards
